El Salvador - Childrens Christmas Party

Our ROPEholder in El Salvador works with extremely poor families and he has contacted ROPE and requested £500 to provide food and a small gift for 426 children attending a Christmas party.

Albania - Classroom completion for children with disabilities

In Albania there are not yet specific schools or adapted programs for children with a physical disability, in fact most of them have never had the opportunity to attend school. The community in which these children live lacks the accessibility to integrate them into its midst.

Our partners in Albania run a residential centre for children and young people with disabilities and social problems. At the residential centre the children and young people receive intensive therapy and treatment for their disabilities and are also able to attend school, often for the first time in their lives. Thus the residential centre is vital to the country as it serves as a referral point for the whole of Albania.

Following the explosions at Gardec earlier in the year our partners have had more childen and young people needing to attend the school. Therefore there is an urgent need for completion of classrooms and our ROPEholder has contacted us to request assistance for funding so that the following work can be completed: Toilet plumbing and supplies, paint walls inside; outside plastering; purchase of aluminium doors and windows, plumbing work and electrics. The total cost of completion of this work is £4900.
